Further to our discussions regarding Italian Week in Brisbane, I am pleased to have received your proposals for development of the website
www.italianweek.com.au and undertaking the role of Media liaison and marketing.
As ‘Italian Week’ is in its first year, I am happy to have your assistance in the promotion and development of what we believe will become an important annual cultural event in Brisbane. Italian Week is a celebration which allows me to associate the name of the Consulate of Italy and myself personally to a series of events which I consider of utmost importance, due to their artistic level and for the impact they will have on the Italian Community residing in Brisbane and for all Australians appreciating the unique value of Italian Culture.
As we have already discussed, I am interested in portraying Italy in the modern and dynamic context and as such we are pleased to have your collaboration, as New Realm Media is currently promoting Italy in this fashion. In this new dimension, we have decided to present Italian artists coming to perform and to complete their artistic formation in Australia and to encourage the artistic skills of recent Italian travellers.
Convinced that the work and commitment of this Consulate can have the important function to pursue and support the significant social and custom changes which the Italian community here in Queensland and the Northern Territory are encountering, it is my intention to propose an image of the modern and present day Italy, whilst at the same time evaluating her cultural traditions.
Thanking you again for your support, I wish to mention that the name of this Consulate of Italy in Brisbane will be associated also in the future with initiatives of similar cultural level and importance.
